User Documentation

Many of ICOM’s customized software development projects and standard products require the delivery of user documentation.  ICOM has the professional expertise necessary to deliver highly informative and comprehensive forms of this type of documentation.  We have delivered user documentation in many different formats, including:

Hardcopy manuals.

Online help application programs.

Short cut user tip sheets for daily operation of applications.

Internet and Intranet based Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) scripting.

ICOM can provide your organization with the documentation materials needed to assist your personnel in understanding the details of our software and the software of others.

The challenge of documenting its own software applications and being directly responsible for training end-users has assisted ICOM in becoming better software designers and developers.  When a software programmer is challenged with the task of participating in or even writing the user documentation for his or her own programs, that programmer is not likely to author any overly complex or unnecessary command functions.

For this reason, ICOM encourages its programmers to participate in the software documentation process.  The end result of this exercise always leaves the programmer with a better understanding of the project at hand, an appreciation for the issues facing the end-users of today’s software market, and a desire to create a more comprehensive and consistent software application, including a user interface that is much easier for an individual to learn.
